Thing to wear

When japanese write Kimono in Kanji, it means "Thing to wear".

it is quite simple but i think it has very impressive senses that japanese originally have got for clothing.

Just imagine.

When you wear normal clothes like t-shirts and jeans, are you conscious of wearing them? 

My answer is not often conscious of "wearing something". 

Wearing Kimonos tend to be seen that is difficult to wear and is easy to come loose.

It is true sometimes, but i think this characteristic makes Kimonos as it is.

In other words, Kimonos make you more conscious of wearing  compared to the other clothes.

Good things brought you by being conscious of wearing are these.

You become more conscious of your posture and move as it is described as "Shosa-所作" in japanese.

Its good for your body, health and beauty.

Also, being careful not come loose means you care about people around you.  In other words, "consideration" or "polite attitude".

Kimono is a tool that can express your humanity, personality and dignity.

「着物」

このように漢字で着物と書くと、「着る物」であることを意味します。

かなりシンプルですが、ここに衣服に対する日本人独特のとても印象的な感性が読み取れます。

想像してみてください。

あなたが普段、シャツやジーンズを着ているときに、それを着ていること」を意識していますか?

私はあまり意識していません。

着物を着ることは難しく、着崩れしやすいと思われがちです。それは時に事実だと思いますが、その特徴が着物を着物としているのだと思います。

言い換えれば、着物は洋服と比べて、

着る人にとって、着ていることを意識させてくれます。

着ていることを意識することの良さは

姿勢や動き(所作)を意識することで、身体や美容に好影響があること。

また、着崩れを注意することは、自分の周りの人を気遣うということ。「思いやり」や「礼儀正しさ」に言い換えられるでしょう。

着物は着る人の人間性や人格・品格を色濃く表現できるツールでもあるのです。
