Ideas and opinions 1-2

Though people would think that the change of my life decision, Jazz Musician to Kimono Salesman, is quite differ, Kimono and traditional culture weren't actually very new for my life.

~Childfood Memories~

Talking about my parents, both of them like to do Japanese traditional things. Actually, my mother has a license of Kitsuke-shi (Kimono dressing teacher) , my late father had played Shakuhachi (Japanese traditional instrument which made from bamboo) since he was in college.

Especially, most srongest motivation to Japanese traditional culture is from my memory of my family participate in local festival every summer.

In the festival, we wear Matsuri-Banten, a traditional clothes, when we carry portable shrine and i thought it was the coolest style which an adult can be and I always longed for being a part of them. An atmosphere of the festival made my blood to boil strongly.

I thought these backgrounds are making "My Blood".

So, After I notice that, I was satisfied getting an idea of working for traditional culture through these life experiences and living environment.

ジャズミュージシャンからきもののセールスマンへの方向転換はかなり違うものだと思われがちですが、実は、僕にとってきものや伝統文化は身近なものでした。

～子供のころの思い出～

僕の両親のことについて少し紹介しますと、僕の両親は二人とも日本の伝統的なものやことが好きでした。実際に、母は着付師の免許を持っていますし、亡くなった父は学生のころから尺八を演奏していました。

特に僕が日本の伝統文化へ動機づけられた思い出は、毎年夏に家族で地元のお祭りに参加することでした。

お祭りでは祭半纏を着て神輿を担ぎます。

幼心から、祭半纏を着た大人たちは１年の中で１番恰好良く見えました。そしていつもそんな大人に憧れを抱いて、いつか自分もああいうカッコいい大人になりたいと思っていました。祭りの空気が僕の血を騒がせていました。

この体験が、今の自分の血の根本を作っていると気がつきました。

ですので、このような人生経験や生活環境を通して、伝統文化に携わった働き方をするというアイデアにたどり着いたとき、妙にしっくりときました。
